No one can call or text me due to ported number from another network

I've been with vodafone for a week and I'm angry with the service I have received. I was under the impression it was fairly simple to import my number from my other provider to my new contract so went along with getting the PAC code etc etc. The issue now is that nobody other than other Vodafone users can text or call me- this means my friends and family can no longer reach me by text or call and don't get the option of leaving a voicemail. What is odd is that I can use my 4G data and make outgoing calls and texts to everyone else, I am just unreachable at my ported number and temporary Vodafone number. I've used the online chat and was told that resetting my network settings  on my handset (iPhone SE) would resolve the issues, this has not helped at all. I need help on this issue as I need this resolved urgently

I can well understand why you would be frustrated and unimpressed at this. 

 

Porting in to Vodafone should indeed be seamless. 

 

The advice to reset your phone is a known generic tip to refresh network connection. Which can work. 

 

However in your case I'm more inclined to believe you maybe suffering from a Split Port. 

 

This is where not all the porting files have settled successfully. 

 

Please call 191 and ask the agent to check this and if it is a split port they'll escalate this to the porting teams to work on.

Please try the following steps:

 

Settings > Phone > My Number > Enter your mobile number
