Note 3 Questions

Hi, I currently have a generic (non-Vodafone) Note 2 that I bought sim free and I'm now interested in the Note 3. I've just phoned Vodafone about my upgrade and have the choice of sticking with a sim-only plan (but I'll move to 4G) or moving to a sim and phone plan, which will save me about half the full cost of the phone.

The lady I spoke to said that the Note 3's are unlocked and unbranded but from what I've seen on here I'm thinking that advice may be incorrect. Please can anyone confirm, as this will help me decide which route to take. Thanks.

Our phones are now locked to Vodafone and most do tend to be branded.
