After nearly two years of faultless service this morning my note 4 decided to lock up and then turn off.
Wouldn't do anything.
In the end after 6 hard resets on the buttons which didn't work it sparked into some sort of life.
It now works, but only after a fashion. Lots of freezing up and having to take the battery out, then sometimes it will start and sometimes just sits there teling me it's a note 4 and not going any further until battery is removed and turned on again.
Any ideas guys?

If this was my phone id ry freeing up as much internal storage space and ram as possible.
And maybe try a new battery.
Could be an excellent excuse to upgrade.

Clean restart so currently 20 gb of internal free and nothing running, no new apps installed etc.
May be a trip to a service center, still got about six months to run on contract and there's nothing I want to change it for.

It certainly sounds as though it could be a battery issue, but I wouldn't go to the expense of buying a new one to find out. Does it work if you plug it in? That would be an indicator, though sudden shudowns due to power loss can corrupt system files that only a re-flash will cure.
If you have to get it fixed, a trip direct to Samsung might be best - I've heard good reports of their service in the past. Bear in mind that there's no current Note model, so replacement might be an issue if that's what's required.

Thanks. It doesn't seem to make any difference if it's plugged in or not:-(
The good old s4 has gotten me out of trouble for now so no mad rush to sort it...
