Note 7 Swap Queries - Voda Forums Reps Plz

Not applicable

Afternoon Voda Reps

QQ Regarding Note 7 Queries etc.

1. Swapouts - Naturally Voda are doing these. The official statement says To call after 19th Sept If you want to exchange for Note 7 device. Will it be a straight Swap For Swap with DPD (IE Their "Swapit" Facility) ??

Can these be done in store? The guys in Crawley said it could be done like for like. I'd just rather not be without my device for more than a couple of days if Im still paying for it.

2. What happens on Siebel in relation to tariffs and billing? Will these be exempt due to the issues? IE Old Tariff still rolling on? Etc

FWIW, Credit to Voda for stopping the programme for now.

Samsung will update the market soon, Sammie really dont need the bad press right now.

I hate Iphones and im even considering swapping to one as no other device offers any real replacement for what i need from Vodafones lineup this isnt Samsung or Half decent.

That says something about how happy i feel about using the device i recieved back from Samsung.

For those that might not be aware, a few days after posting my original thread, my device started smoking and I contacted Samsung who handled my return and replacement.

My new one turned up 4 days later. Its working at the moment, but I dont know if its worth keeping. I used to be a real advocate for the Note lineup.

But even Im beginning to realise that all good things come to an end. Vodafone certainly havent helped the situation with their pisspoor handling of the exchange program when all other MNOs seem to be doing a great job.

My general advice to people right now as a respected android developer - get away from this device. If Samsung now make it EOL within 2 months, Software updates will be non-existant and support will be minimal.

Yes its a good phone, but the dangers outweigh the benefits. Yes all electronic devices could go up at any moment, but for the Note 7 is too danagerous to have around for now.

I originally also tried to do my exchange through Vodafone and was met by a brick wall when talking over the phone which is why I created this thread to try and get some clarification.

Vodafone; Take some feedback away from this. You need to develop better processes, I have spoken to lots of people who ordered through you who either have the device or preordered. They are all annoyed at how bad you have been with the exchange programme. I also understand that it can be difficult when its not your fault, but you have made life difficult for 95% of the posters on this thread.

The worrying thing is that although Samsung say that they know a "rare manufacturing fault" caused all of the problems they do not know (or won't say ) which batches of phones went through the process. Just as when the problem first arose they were unable to say where the phones with the faulty batteries had been sent to.

Probably a lot of people are happily using their phones but there is always the thought in the back of the mind that one day it may just go up in flames.

Would I take the risk if I was a Samsung fan? No.

Remember it takes a while to filter down the ranks im afraid. Took us 4 days to work out who was delaing with the exchange a little while back.

Enough it enough now, i've received my replacement note 7. But with another recall looming i've just about had enough of this.

I've got my heart set on the google pixel XL now, but vodafone aren't stocking it only EE and CFW, going to try and battle my way out of the contract -I should be able to get out of it since the replacement phone also has know fire issues - shouldn't I?

CPW are doing contracts on Voda with the Pixel XL so you can still get it with Voda per se

Not Vodafone's fault that devices still have issues - but am interested to see what degree of shambles characterises their handling of this from here.

So so who will be complying and power down this morning?

The problem is until Samsung tell Vodafone and other networks what they intend to do about the phones already in the market nobody is going to know what to do.

The networks could take it on themselves to recall all phones but then what? Samsung could say the phones already in the market are OK and the phones would all have to be returned to the customers.

As it is the warning from Samsung should be heeded and it is now a matter of sitting tight and waiting for Samsung to make their next announcement as to what owners and networks should do.
