Note 8 unlocked?

I've a Note 8 on its way from Vodafone which I've taken out over contract, however I've also a 2nd phone on Three Network and I'm just wondering if I can swap sims? 

So my my question is anyone that has received their note can they check if it's unlocked out of the box? or will I need to request it to be unlocked?

All phones supplied by the Network are locked to them @Bigsmoke

To unlock a phone from Vodafone U.K. A person has to have paid x3 bills on time first. 

Or if on Payg the sim needs to have bern used in the phone making calls etc for 30 days.
