Nougat update for HTC M9

My phone hasn't had the OTA update yet.
It has Android 6.0, Sense 7.0 and Software 3.35.401.32.

I am with Vodafone UK, but purchased this handset separately.

How can I tell if my phone is setup by Vodafone handset?

I have seen the file online ~1.9GB.

Can I downlaod and install it myself?

If I do it will it be ok, or will I brick it?

If you bought the phone as sim free unbranded then the manufacturer will typically push the Nougat firmware when it's ready. 

Vodafone push out nougat to their supplied branded phones. 

I'm on a s7 edge unbranded sim free so I will get it from samsung. 

Also Vodafone won't comment on firmware releases as per http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-monthly-products-services/Firmware/m-p/2421980#M4420

People can elect to flash it is to their phones but I have been reading of ramifications such as issues with incoming calls and certain apps not working. 

Head over to Xda developers site and forum for more detailed information. 

My suggestion is to sit tight and wait for it to arrive to your phones settings.

OK, was aware re VF not stating when they intend to roll out the updates.

So, if mine is unbranded why hasn't Nougat appeared, it was ready early Dec 16?

How do i confirm if mine is fully unbranded (it was bought 2nd hand)?

The 401 in the software information you posted indicates that your phone is unbranded.

Manufacturers usually release ota updates in batches so their servers don't get hammered.

In order to flash firmware your phone would need to be unlocked and might also need to have S-Off (security off). It depends on the firmware type... 

S-Off will trigger a counter within the phone and could affect any future warranty claim.

Much easier to just sit tight and wait for the update to arrive. 😉

I appreciate how frustrating it is when waiting. 

I'm happy to be on a stable Marshmallow at the moment. 

I spoke to Samsung and they advised they are sending it out in batches. Feels painfully slow.

A person can also see if they have a branded phone as sometimes when first turning them On they have a network splash screen and or baked in network apps. 

I've read if a person puts on their countries rom then it's more unlikely that knox would be tripped but as I mentioned people are experiencing different issues by doing so.

I also have an unbranded M9 and there's no sign of Nougat yet.  Some of the HTC apps have updated for compatibility, so it looks as though they may be getting ready.  However, the M9 is an older model and they may be concentrating on more recent ones first.   The update will come from HTC and not Vodafone, so you're best asking them, tbh.
