Original Receipt

Hi all,

I need to retrieve the original receipt for my iPhone 4S which I purchased 3 years back, I've called and visited the Vodafone store I purchased it from and they have told me they cannot retrieve this as it was 3 years ago. Apple need the receipt so they can remove the activation lock on the device, a proof of purchase will not be sufficience.

The documentation you sent isn’t sufficient because it’s not the proof of purchase or sales receipt for the product. Order-status and shipping-status documents aren’t valid proof of purchase. Contacting the reseller may be the best way to obtain a proper receipt.

A valid proof of purchase or sales receipt must include each of these things:
Reseller’s name, address, and phone number or website URL
Date of purchase when the product was originally sold
Itemized product information, including price and product serial number
Total price paid 

If the receipt doesn’t include this information, we can’t complete your request.

Thanks for your response. A proof of purchase is not sufficient enough to warrant Apple to unlock the phone. I need a receipt as I've given Apple a proof purchase which they state isn't sufficient evidence.

I may be misreading yopur quote from Apple. They state:

This would suggest to me that they will accept a Proof of Purchase assuming it contains all their required details:

---

Reseller’s name, address, and phone number or website URL
Date of purchase when the product was originally sold
Itemized product information, including price and product serial number
Total price paid

I'm unsure what detail has already been provided however I would assume that a full proof of purchase from Vodafone would contain all the appropriate information.

I provided Apple a proof of purchase and they said it wasn't sufficient, with all the requested info, they now are saying they need the actual receipt.

They seem to be open to accepting a PoP yet declined when you sent them.

I'm not sure Vodafone will be able to give you your actualy reciept but they should be able to sort something out. It's pretty commonly done for insurance claims which would require the same details as Apple so I can't imagine it's impossible.

Not surprised by Apple declining it, they seem pretty strict with these requests but I've provided all the info they needed and an Apple representitive I've been assigned with fully understands that it is my phone! But the department overseeing the request won't authorise this without the receipt, hopefully Vodafone can sort something out as it's a paper weight at the minute! I've emailed, sent letters and called Vodafone without success of getting a receipt, just hope the forum as a last resort can help me out.

I have attached the details of my iPhone 5 for you to be able to retrieve my receipt with all the details that apple is requesting as proof of purchase from your store.
