I have an original Sure Signal which worked fine for the first year or so that I had it (including 6 months with Sky) - however recently it doesn't seem to be helping.

Here is the information requested in other posts:

What light sequence do you see when the Sure signal is plugged in?  1 & 2 solid, 3 & 4 off

What is the Sure Signal serial number?  21197179795

What is the results of a speed test?  download 0.63 Mbps, upload 0.35 Mbps

What are the results of a ping test?  44 ms

What are the results of a traceroute? (details below)

C:\Users\Fiftyseven>tracert 212.183.133.177

Hi there rkl57,

Thanks for your post.

  • The IP address is on the whitelist
  • Your traceroute looks fine even with the missed hop (number 2)

The major concern for me is your speed.

0.63Mbps download isn't enough to keep the Sure Signal active. You need a minimum speed of 1Mbps for the VSS to work.

I'm afraid you'll need to contact your ISP to see if there is anything they can do to increase that speed.

Cheers,

LeeH

Dear Lee

I have finally had some success getting the speed of my broadband connection improved.

Download speed now 1.11 mb/s and upload 0.452 mb/s.

However all four lights on the Sure Signal are now constantly flashing.  I have tried to unplug and then reinsert the power cable while holding the reset button but with no effect.

Please advise next steps.

thanks

Robert

Hi rkl57,

How long have the lights been like this?

It sounds like it is going through the setup process and downloading a new profile.

If you leave everything switched on and connected for the next 24 hours, it should connect.
