I left Vodafone in October 2017 with what I thought was a £0.00 balance outstanding; however on checking / applying for credit I discovered I actually have an outstanding amount of £1.05 (massive right?!?!?). I've never received an email / letter / call to advise of this (even though I have the same number now as I did when I was with Vodafone, and have the same email and home address) so wasn't aware this was even an issue.
I've tried to get through the customer service phone numbers and options but as I don't have a live account I can't get through the options. It just keeps kicking me out. I've got an account number and phone number I can provide but I'm at my wits end trying to contact somebody here.
Is there anybody here from Vodafone that can help me as I really want to get this sorted and cleared up?
Thanks
Garry

@garrysr I'm sorry to hear of the experience you've had in relation to your closed account, I understand how concerning it must be having an owed balance you're not aware of. So I'm able to take a closer look into this for you and get things sorted, I've sent you a private message with details on how to get in touch.

I left Vodafone in October 2017 with what I thought was a balance of £0.00. Turns out that wasn't the case and I apparently owe £1.05 (yes that's one pound and 5 pence). This is now affecting my credit and as I haven't had any contact from Vodafone since leaving (even though I have the same telephone number, email address and home address) I wasn't aware until I tried to get a credit agreement elsewhere and was declined.
I've tried numerous times to get through to collections / customer services to pay this off however as I don't have an active Vodafone account I can't get past the options on the phone and I'm repeatedly cut off.
I really need somebody to help now as I'm starting to get to my wits end. Is there somebody here who can contact me to sort this out?

I'm struggling to understand why Vodafone would cause so much stress and harmful effects to a persons Credit File for £1.05 !
It beggers belief.
Let the Vodafone Social Media Teams here catch up with your thread and they'll help you with this.
They also have a dedicated Credit File Specialist Team who can investigate this for you. A default if warranted lasts 6 years from the default date even when its paid off as this then shows as settled on the Credit File but the default marker remains..
I wish you all the best with this situation.

Everything now is automated so there is no effort to register it as a Default on Credit File.
Question is where do you expect Vodafone to draw a line? 1p, 50p, £1, £5, £10?
When you leave any company, be it Utility, Mobile or any Supplier for that matter, best to make sure that bill has been fully paid.
Technically speaking any outstanding amount is a debt.
Wait for the Forum team to pick it up and they might be able to sort it out for you.
