POP email on galaxy s5

I have just purchased the S5, and am currently setting up and transferring data.

I have 3 email accounts, the hotmail and gmail I have set up with no issues. However, my main email account is on Karoo (Kingston Communications network).

It is a pop3 account, and the phone won't let me add this using manual settings, it tries to find automatic settings, and then says pit cannot connect to server/authenticate. I have checked with karoo, and I have all the correct host details etc.

After checking other forums, I have also tried using a mail app to load this email, but no luck on them either. (Tried my mail and blue mail).

Can anybody offer any advice has anyone managed to set up a karoo email address on the s5, this is going to cause me major issues if I cannot receive my emails on the phone, (I've previously had a blackberry and iPhones, and not had these problems).

Ok first don't do this via mobile data

set this up first using wifi

the pop3 for karro is pop.karoo.co.uk

the server is Server: pop.karoo.co.uk

Now Vodafones wap can strugle with some email pop3 so you need to set up a Apn as if it was a tablet

using

APN: internet
Username: web
Password: web

this avoids the security holding this up i have to use the above to talk to a Exchange server

The other way of handling things is to do everything via your Gmail account and then use the dedicated app on your phone, which is very good and quite simple.

Via the website, you can set Gmail to pick up message from other accounts and then to reply as-from the address to which the message was originally sent.   That way, it's transparent in use.

There's no setting up and it saves a lot of hassle with POP3, which I've now abandoned completely.
