Hmm... It has absolutely nothing to do with device firmware at all; billing and topping up is done at account level, within the network. My understanding was that you just registered an online account, entered the dongle as a device, and could manage it from there- nothing to do with the dongle, firmware, OS, or client software version...

Is there any kind of notification thing I can sign up to (RSS, SMS, Email etc) for when PAYG with out of the box Mac support is available? That would be really handy.

It is.
I've been using TU&G on a Mac for a couple of months. Works fine. After initial activation I ditched the Mac contract software altogether. You can check your balance online and, for several weeks now, online topup for TU&G has been available.
To keeb tabs on my day-to-day usage, I use a very basic 3rd party usage meter.

Hi, do we have any news yet of when PAYG Broadband will be officially supported for Macs? I'm really keen to get one but I'm put off by the local of support from Vodafone.
