Hi nem39esis
Thank you for your post.
It’s not possible to include every charge in our terms and conditions as there are so many services that we offer, however we do provide additional information on our help and support page which can be found here.
This does state that the 500MB are added to your current monthly allowance. The billing for this is the same day as the rest of your services as we only bill you once per month.
I trust this answers your question.

Again this month it was day 29 when Vodafone text to say that the next 500MB will be billed at £5.
It seems very consistently I'm using just over 750MB by very small margins,
Vodafone keep refering to the additional purchased data resetting each month, but yet can't provide any part of the contract where this is stated in any sense of the word.
Nothing suggests this is the case although all the employees seem to have this information to hand. Please explain.
I WILL ASK AGAIN. WHERE IN THE CONTRACT DOES IT SAY THAT ADDITIONAL PURCHASES OVER AND ABOVE AGREED LIMITS WILL BE RESET AT THE END OF EACH MONTH?
Rather than keeping telling me that it resets show me where I've agreed to this in writing because as far as I'm concerned I have not agreed to this at all.
I know someone who works for the citizens advice bureau and they agree with what I've already said. If there is no indication in your contract that additional purchases will be reset at the turn of each month Vodafone have no right to do so.
I would like this case escualted to the legal team to have a definitive answer.
Vodafone are squeezing the life out of their customers at the moment with the very restrictive data bundles and it seems to me with techinicalities such as this, they are pushing too far and taking advantage of their customers,

This is a disgrace. A company charging £5 for a few mb of data to last a day or two.
On most other comapnies it costs like 50p a day for data.
If they charge you £5 for extra data this should last for 30 days from being purchased! However Vodafone are being really sneaky and charging an arm and a leg.
They reduced the data on purpose to do this as iPhone tariffs used to be 1GB of data - now they see the ££££££ thats the buiness decision just pure money spinner.
Why should you have to reduce your usage? As you have clearly stated you are paying good money for a smartphone that you cannot use properly for its use - if you do you get hammered.
Maybe you should email the CEO about this as you seem to get know where fast with Vodafone.

This thread, and the other by a disgruntled user, are worrying me. I am looking to upgrade to the iPhone 4 with 500mb. It will only be used for emails and surfing with the ocassional games. If someone knows from the app that he is not using more than 400mb why is he being charged for more data. Vf reckon he is using over 1GB - so he says.
Before signing up for 18 months I would like to know the facts please.
Thank you

Now december and no response from vodafone to Oilmans message. I too think the extra charge is a joke, there are no terms and conditions relating to it, ive paid the extra several times and often right before the end of the month. It should be rolled over if ive paid for it. In addition, the charges seam to change all the time one day its £5 per 250mb then £5 per 500mb the £1 per 100mb. why not just a charge per day so that its FAIR!

Hi nem39esis
We’ve answered all we can on this.
In relation to the charges, if you have a web pack on already and exceed that, then you will be charged £5 for an extra 250MB. More information can be found here
If this doesn’t happen and you see different amounts, please let us know and I’ll happily check it for you.
Thanks

I still dont see a response to oilmans query yet displayed?
I think its a valid question. Where does it show in the terms and conditions that the data amounts are per month when going over the monthly usage.
What happens if I don’t buy a pack?
If you choose not to buy a Standard or Premium Pack, we’ll automatically charge you £5 for 250MB of UK web access as soon as you go over the data allowance already included in your price plan.
The above mentions nothing of per month, would you not agree?
In addition there still has been no answer either in the forums or in the media as to why you have doubled the cost of data to your customers? 100% increase on a service that already is extortionate? Think people desrve a reason. No reason is almost as bad a s the "simplifying" term used for increasing costs.

Hey men39sis,
Thanks for your query.
The data rollover isn't stated in the terms and conditions because it doesn't form part of your agreement. The business decision has been made and for the forseeable future I don't expect this to change.
I agree that there is no mention of the charge being per month. Likewise, there's no mention of it being a per-day charge and we've already stated on numerous occasions that the data will not carry over, much the same as any other allowance.
We haven't published this information to the media as it's a business decision and not a change to your agreement.
Cheers,
Lee
