My wifes vodaphone contract is up end of November but my vodaphone contract runs out Nov 2018 and Ive just recieved a new phone and contract free from work. So no brainer give my vodaphone phone to my wife along with contract cancel my wifes contract and ask vodaphone to PAC both numbers as we both want to keep our numbers. Vodaphone says this is immpossible and I cant move the number that Ive had for 20 years to my work contract and then move my wifes number to my old phone.
Is this true, can vodaphone not do this or and I just being fobbed off?

Hi @SilkyD
As advised that won't be possible. There is nothing stopping you from asking Vodafone for a PAC code to transfer your number to your new business contract but this will cancel your contract.
With the contract cancelled, you would be unable to do a change of ownership to your wife to transfer her number.
The other alternative is to use your business number change ownership to your wife for the Vodafone contract. She would then need to ask Vodafone to put her number on payg as a temporary measure, due to 30 days notice, this will take 30 days to complete, she would then be able to transfer the number to the contract. This would mean her number would override your number and you would lose the number you wanted to keep.

Hi Anns
Thanks for the reply, could I not get Vodaphone to pac my wifes number from her phone over to my phone first. No end of contract on my phone just a "NEW" number. This surly then freeing up my number to then pac to my business phone?

Hi @SilkyD
You would be unable to do what you propose.
As soon as ownership of your number was made to your Wife and she transferred her number to your contract, the number would replace your number and you would lose the number. With your Wife's contract being numberless, this would cancel out your Wife's contract leaving just your contract with her number.
The only way this can be done is for you to cancel your contract by porting out to your new business contract, this would immediately leave you liable for all the early termination charges. You would be able to give your Wife the use of your phone and she would be able to change to SIM free a the end of her contract saving her money.
