HI! My child is moving to Germany from the USA and has an iPhone on AT&T network. Will she be able to use her phone in Germany and, if so, what does she need to do before leaving the States? She will be there for a few years and wants to be able to text and talk with people in the USA.
Solved! Go to best answer.

Hi
You'd need to speak to your network to ensure roaming is turned on in the account and no bars are turned on in the account if she intends to use her own SIM card.
Check out roaming charges and that your network has a roaming agreement with the German one.
The iPhones frequencies should work on the German network but it's worth just double checking. Use Google to search.
If your network allows it arrange to have the iPhone unlocked to all networks in case of issue so at least a local SIM card can be used.

Hi @AirForceDad
Vodafone Germany is a separate company to Vodafone UK.
Please contact Vodafone Germany for charges and information on the link below.
It would work out a lot cheaper to get a SIM card for Vodafone Germany.
