After working mostly fine for several years, my VSS v1 stopped completely a few days ago.
Tried resetting, leaving for 24 hours, and the various troubleshooting steps and no improvement.
Symptoms: VSS box starts from reset. After the initial quick flash of light 1-2-3-4, Slowly light 1 then 2 come on solid after slow flashing.
Sometimes goes back to just light 1 and starts again.
If left for many hours spends most of its time with just lights 1 and two solid.
Occasionally light 4 flashes for a bit.
Requested information below.
Many thanks if someone can help.

Hi Fruitcage,
Your problem is almost certainly due to a degraded power supply.
Replacements are availabe from Amazon or Ebay and cost around£10-12.
In the meantime, have a look around for a 12 volt power supply with a capacity of around 1.5 Amps to prove the fault. these may be found on external hard drives, printers, routers etc, etc.
Regards,
Mike

That seems to have fixed it (after pulling the house apart and checking about 20 power supplies until I found a suitable one!)
Thanks very much indeed.
