Please excuse the noddy question. Never had iPhone. If I take the plunge will I be able to set different profiles for different occasions. With my bb I have silent, vibrate , ringing etc. any number of custom profiles. Is the iPhone similar?

No. You cannot set profiles on an iPhone. Setting it to silent is as easy as it could be as there is a physical switch on the side of the phone.

But it's either on or off - that's it.

Thank you again. Any idea if the S6 is similar. With Bb I can have any number of profiles which can be customised

Only BB does profiles. They aren't available with iOS or android.

As s man in the know do you think BB are about to go under? Girl in EE shop said they didn't do blackberries because soon there would be no BB to repair them.

Blackberry have been suffering as a business for a while 😔

Releasing BBM to other platforms was a positive move.

Some Networks have stopped or reduced the models of handset offered .

That said they have recently released new models into the marketplace so I'll be thinking positive thoughts for them.

Good advice about the "Profiles" question.

The girl in the EE shop is talking absolute rubbish. Blackberry is still a very large and solvent business. In February 2015 the company has cash balances and short term cash equivalent investments of $3.27 billion. They are still selling millions of phones - 1.3 million in the 4th quarter of 2014.
