Hi all,

Android Nougat.

My daily driver go to phone is an unbranded Samsung Galaxy s7 edge.

Now Samsung have released Nougat Beta to some early adopters a few weeks ago I've been watching a few threads from some early adopters giving some insight.

Is anyone on the forum using Android Nougat ?

Appreciate it may be slightly different on other models of phones but I'd love to hear your thoughts.  :Smiling:

@jonspittle

I'm kinda wishing I'd signed up now ! :Winking_smiley:

Looking forward to the AoD then.

Does the display still move around a couple of mm to help stop screen burn ?

The double tap sounds useful although at the moment if its the home button I use that for quick launch of the camera.

At the moment I use the left Recent Button key to move between apps and frequently long press on it to launch multi tasking split screen.

Appreciate what your saying about battery life.

@jonspittle spot on! At the moment its just Vodafone suporting it though its becoming part of the core messaging system in Android so I wouldn't be surprised if more networks dont come on board in the near future.
Google have already partnered with Sprint in the US and Rogers in Canada to get things moving over there, id imagine we will see somthing similar in Europe in the next year or so.

@BandOfBrothers,

I've just added the screenshots to my last post, as you can see the quick settings are more customisable now.

Yes the display still moves around a mm every min or so.

Sorry I meant double tap on the AoD, so when you receive a notification you simply double tap on that icon and the phone will unlock and open that app, if you have security in place then you will need to enter a pin/pattern or use your finger as normal. Tbh I barely do this as you don't know who the notification is from in that app, I do use the double tap to skip songs though.

Oh one more feature I like is the power saver option that has been imported from the Note 7, you can now customise your power saving mode, including changing the resolution of the screen from QHD to FHD.

I haven't really seen a difference in battery life but others on XDA-DEVELOPERS have said it does help. To be honest I'm a massive power user so it is difficult to explain how the battery is because I'll just charge my phone as and when I need to, depending on what I'll be doing that day.

Double tap on the AoD > nice :Smiling:

I agree about usage and battery.

One of the best tips I took on board years ago was to turn off the Battery % sign and get on with using my phone and enjoying it's features.

Thank You again for your continuing user experience.   :Smiling:

Ah that's actually a pretty good idea! The amount of forums I read where users' are showing how much battery life they can squeeze out of a phone is hilarious, it's like some people want to get a medal haha!

Anyway no problem! šŸ‘
