Re: Are Vodafone acting legally?

Hi - I've tried for a month in total now to get my spotify working.

During the first chat the operator told me to cancel my existing paid subscription, which I did, but the offer redemption through vodafone still didn't work.

During the next bunch of calls the operator told me to wait a few days for "the payment methods to sync up", which I did, but it didn't help. I still recieved the same error.

During the next call(s) the operator told me to wait until the subscription itself expired, which I have now done. My existing spotify offer expired more than three days ago, but the redemption through vodaphone still doesn't work. At least now I get a new error (grab below).

Does anyone know how to fix this?

What phone do you have?

Smartphone (not Windows) then try using that.

Go to Start.vodafone.com.

If you scroll down, you will see Spotify Premium. If you click on it, it will take you to the sign page if you are using Network Data. If on WiFi, then will ask for your number ans send you a Text with a pin. Then Enter the Pin.

On that Page select Spotify. It iwll take you to the Spotify website and ask you to log in. Once sucessfully Logged in, should return back Vodafone page and confirm that you have activated.

@jg_n1 If you're still having trouble with Spotify, please get in touch with our team using the details from the private message I've sent.

Make sure you are not using Wi-Fi the first time you connect – this is so the partner can validate who you are.

You need to send text ENTERTAINMENT to 97613 OR go to https://offers.vodafone.com/gb on your mobile device. And then you will receive a SMS that will take you to a mobile page

(https://offers.vodafone.com/gb) where you can then select which Entertainment pack you want.

Ensure you are not using Wi-Fi – this is so the partner can validate who you are.

Yes, going through this process will ask you to sign up to the £9.99 after having the first month free. However you will not be billed as this will be allocated to Vodafone - the whole process being seamless.

The point of doing this through your phone is so that they can tie up your phone account with Spotify.

Please disregard my previous post. On further reading and despite having contacted customer services who assured me otherwise it appears that the method used above will transfer to payment after the initial four week period.

I was completely misled by the Vodafone representative yesterday.

For that reason please do not follow the above post

The procedure I posted is the way to sign up.

You could do this through computer too. And follow the WiFi procedure.

And definitely you don'the have to sign up for the paid version.
