1) Does the issue happen in just one location? If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service?
Have travelled aprox 10 miles still no service
2) What is the full postcode (e.g. ST1 1AA) of where the issue occurs? If you don't want this showing on the Community, add it to your profile here.
S63 8GZ
3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?
Unknown, no access to another phone
4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs?
Emergency calls only, no data
5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all?
All
6) When did you first notice this issue?
30/03/2017 ~10am
7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs?
Permanent
Additionally my SIM has been fine for months, this just occurred seemingly at random. Removing and re-inserting the SIM has no effect, nor does restarting the phone or trying to re-connect to a network.

Hi,
Your masts both local and surrounding are reporting as Ok.
However if even travelling that distance away from your area still leaves you with the same issue then This points to the SIM card or phone at issue.
If you do not have access to a Back Up phone or someone that you knows phone that'll accept a Vodafone SIM card then I'd suggest to visit a Vodafone Highstreet Store where I'm sure they'll try your SIM card in an In house phone.
Then if it's your SIM card they can sim swap it to replace it.
If its your your phone then if it's covered under Manufacturing Warranty they could send it away to have diagnostics run on it.
