SS v1 no longer connects after power failure

SS v1 has worked just fine since new in 2011 but on Tuesday we had a power failure.  SS no longer connects, light 1 & 2 only.  Had power outs before but SS always restarts just fine.  Have done all I can find in Trouble shooting but still only 2 lights after 3 days.

 

Status in online account show OK.

 

Any further advice please.

Hi Roger,

 

Thanks for confirming for me. We could do with ruling out either an ISP issue or a fault on the unit. Could you test the device for an hour on a friend, neighbour or relatives internet connection so we can narrow this down?

 

Can you also confirm that you've tested another Ethernet cable too so we can also rule that out?

I've changed the cable, only time will tell.
No chance soon to try with a friend, say a few days before I can.

Additional information.  Some pages on this site ask for a ping to 212.183.133.181  When I try this it times out every time 212.183.133.182 Pings OK.

MTU is 1458

Under trouble shooting there is a request to ping 212.183.133.181 but when I try this I get time outs.

What does this indicate if anything.

It does sound like it may be faulty. Have you managed to test is at a friends house?

 

If you're still getting the same issues, the next step would be repair.

No chance to test at afriends house.  Sounds like it is in need of repair.

Only hope is we are due to move to an area which does have 3G.
