Samsung S7 Gallery/Camera

Having used the Gallery app on my S7 to view photos that I had been sent by e-mail, it now won't do it.

I can see my photos in File Manager so they're not lost, but as soon as I open Gallery, it turns into a camera.

Can anyone help?

Sorry that didn't work. 

Another option is to Clear the cache, defaults and data of Media Storage service.

I am just wondering is its your SD card which has been corrupted or not working as it should be. 

If you have tried powering off/on after removing the SIM and SD card and still have the same problem, you may be looking at doing a factory reset.  If you do, you must remove the SD card, doing a factory reset can sometimes cause the SD card to reformat.

If there are still problems, it may be an idea to contact Samsung direct for a hardware issue.
