They would have gone in the boxes to upload Vodafones own apps onto the phones. They always do this.

The seal on mine was broken too. Needless to say I wasn't filled with confidence at seeing that. My 1st thought was, Vodafone have been in and put their sim card in (following the rumour that the 1st sim card you put in there it will be locked to) to make sure it is DEFINITELY locked to Vodafone. However I've just visited the O2 forum, and they're all saying exactly the same thing, broken seals on these new phones. So perhaps on this occasion Vodafone ARE telling the truth and it was Samsung that did it, if other companies are having the same issue.

I ordered two phones, a gold for my wife and a black for myself. Both arrived on Tuesday morning. The gold box was sealed, the black box wasn't but the phone appeared fine so I have no issues.
However, to hear that some people are getting their phones actually outside the box in the bag? That is inexcusable, although I'm not sure it would make me return it and ask for replacement unless there were marks or obvious damage like it not turning on. Then again, when paying this much money perhaps I'd think differently if it was me. But those supply issues. It could be weeks before you get the replacement.

My seal on the phone was broken too.
My phone worked fine for 4 hours then it stopped working. currently waiting for my new one to arrive tomorrow. Its annoying because we waited so long, finally get it and then end up with a fautly phone. not impressed.

I strongly suspect that had nothing to do with the seal being broken though, unless it was outside the box and rattling around in the bag like some have reported. Sometimes people just get bad devices.
