Hi, just purchased a Vodaphone TopUp and Go Mobile Broadband Dongle. Have set it up and used it ok, no problems. Disconnected, then went to connect back onto my wireless router using the windows vista software, was a little concerned that the vodaphone dongle showed up as a connection option and that i could connect straight to it. Does this mean that anyone in the vicinity will be able to search for wifi connections, find my vodaphone dongle, then use my connection. If so, is there a way to secure/password protect my connection.

Firstlt, a warm welcome to the eForum!

Your Mobile Broadband Dongle can only be accessed/used by inserting it into a PC so nobody can access your connection unless they put the dongle into their PC/laptop.

The option to connect to this will be in your ‘connect to’ menu etc as it’s a connection that has been set up and previously used on that laptop.

Don’t worry, there is no possible way to remotely connect to a Mobile Broadband Dongle.

Don’t forget, if you’re not already registered then you can sign up for online billing too! It’s available 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world so you never have to worry about your bills!
