Hi,

I purchased a storm today and I havehad SOS signal ever since I turned in on 3 hours ago. Can you confirm if there are problems in this area, I would like to use the internet, it is one of the main reasons for getting a blackberry phone! My postcode is LU5 4GU.

Manuel scanning shows t-mobile, orange, o2 but no vodaphone!

It takes time for it be activated, I think 24hrs. i never waited that long tho, try turning it off and on! (pull the battery out and leave it 2 mins and put back in)!

This will then make it reregister on the network so if the SIM has been activated it will kick in!

Good luck with your device, I hope you enjoy it!

Also you can check the coverage by going to here!

hope this helps!

If I go to setup and email setup says my connection to the mobile networ is turned on but that I'm not in a wirelessm coverage area! But I'm living in the centre of a town, it's not as if I'm in a completely remote rural area. I just don't seem to be able to do anything because the signal is constantly SOS, even when it creeps into 2 bars for about 5 seconds and you try doing something such as log online it won't do it. So annoying!

Hi Tom

Don't worry we're looking into this for you now, :)

I've also sent you an email (this should be withyou by now) asking for account and contact details, this will be the quickest way of looking into this, I'm sure it's some sort of network activation on the sim card or from the Blackberry servers themselves.

looking forward to your reply.

Thanks

Hi Reidar,

Are you able to update please? I sent a reply with my details. I've had SOS signal still all day living here in Dunstable. I also seem to have a battery issue, I charged the phone all last night yet today it lasted 5 hours before the battery drained and I had to recharge again. I have turned off GPS and Bluetooth because I heard that affects the battery but it still went down really quick when all I did was make a 20 minute phone call.

But yes, more importantly, i'm still getting a very poor signal in Dunstable. I ordered the phone from Mobile Express online so I have no idea if there are any activation issues. I can access the internet when there is signal but for most of the time I can't get any.

The signal is horrific here in Dunstable. Please see below.

Post Title: 'First half of post code - Area' e.g. ST1 – Stoke-on-Trent
LU5

1) Does the issue happen in just one location? If so, how far do you have to travel to regain service?
Within 10 Miles

2) What is the full postcode (e.g. ST1 1AA) of where the issue occurs? If you don't want this showing on the eForum, add it to your profile here.
LU5 4BJ

3) Does the issue occur if you try your SIM card in a different phone?
Yes a general Vodafone problem

4) What errors are seen or heard when the issue occurs?
Poor signal, difficult to make or receive calls. No 3G signal, unusable 2G or "E" signal, unable to make calls indoors anywhere. When I get 3G signal it's not strong enough to load a web page. Massive delays when sending texts to other vodafone users, 4 days on average.

5) Does this happen on 2G, 3G, 4G or all?
All, as above

6) When did you first notice this issue? In the first week!

7) Is the issue permanent or intermittent? If intermittent, are there certain times of the day when it occurs? Virtually permanent.

Hi AngelaClaire78,

You’re right on the very edge of 3G coverage and the 2G is quite patchy.

All sites in the area are up and running.

This looks to be a general coverage issue, rather than a fault.

The best thing to do in this situation, is to buy a Sure signal. More information on this, can be found here.

Thanks
