Smtp Setup When Using Vodafone Usb Modem

Hi,

My friend is travelling in the UK from Australia and purchased a USB Modem to connect her Asus Netbook for internet and email. It works perfectly for internet but sending email is a problem.

Can anyone tell me what the SMTP setup should be for Outlook 2007?

Thanks heaps.

It's okay, we fixed the problem. The winning SMTP Server was send.vodafone.net.

Hi HutchK

I am glad to hear that you have managed to resolve your problem. If you do have any further queries please do not hesitate to let us know.

As a user of the forum I can see that you like to manage things online. Are you aware that you can view your bills online any time of the day or night? It’s a great service and I would be lost without it. Why not take a look?

Cheers

Hi Stevenbell and welcome to the eForum

Having the ability to send emails via Outlook is really useful and I can totally understand your eagerness to get this sorted. I'm just going to fire a few questions your way to better equip us to get this sorted for you. :-

What error messages do you get?
Have any sent or is it all emails that fail?
Do you have authentication turned on? (If you do turn it off as send.vodafone.net does not require it)
Is the internet connection working ok?
What version of the Vodafone Mobile Connect Client are you running?
What is your operating system?
What version of Outlook are you running?

If you could let me know the answers to the above I'm sure we'll be able to get to the bottom of this for you. :)

Also, take a peak at our Mobile Broadband help centre for more FAQ's.

Thanks
