I visited the UK in August with my Japanese Softbank I phone. My carrier switched to vodafone over here and after some research found that Softbank and Vodafone were in a company merger.
I cancelled my softbank account last week and moved back to the UK yesterday. I had to pay for and keep my Iphone as I don't think Softbank stores sell refurb'ed phones. I know phones are locked to carriers, but since it is a Softbank phone is there any possiblity of getting a vodafone account/contract and getting coverage for it? Obviously will need a new number too.
