Software update on Galaxy S5 (android)

Since updating the vodaphone software on my Samsung Galaxy S5, the phone has started to run at half speed and the battery is draining twice as fast. Anyone have any ideas what this might be due to or what I can do to rectify the problem?

After a firmware update its recommended if the phone is glitching to create a back up and perform a Factory Reset. 

 

This clears out any redundant files.

Was it an update to Android 6? I've just updated to that on my Note 4 and after doing the hard reset it works fine. Do that and you should be OK.
