Sony Xperia L unable to send texts!

Hi there,

Just discovered that I am unable to send out any texts from my Sony Xperia L. I checked my usage and I am well within my text limit for the month, but everytime I try to send a text a little "yellow chat icon" appears and just says Could not send. I have tried turning it on and off, but that has not solved the issue. I figure a hard reset would be a last resort, but I was wondering if there were any other options?

The SMS centre number shown on my phone is the appropriate Vodafone Network one as well, +447785016005

Hi nekospeed,

The message centre number you’ve given is correct.

The screenshot you’ve posted shows that you’ve got good signal.

Do you have any anti-virus or call confirmation apps on your phone?

It’s possible to set them to block outgoing messages.

If you don’t, the hard reset would be the next thing I’d suggest.

Thanks for the swift reply. I do not have any kind of third-party anti-virus or call confirmation apps. I can also make/recieve calls just fine. I tried putting my sim into another UK-phone and it similarly could not text-out, so I think it may be a sim-issue and not my actual Xperia L itself?

Will try a hard reset if all else fails, thanks.

Hi again,

It has somehow resolved itself. Vodafone stores were closed near me over the weekend, but I woke up Monday morning and was able to send texts without them failing to send. So yeah, thanks a lot!
