I probably already know the answer, but ...
I'm using thinkbroadbands speed tester to keep an eye on my new broadband
Yesterday (day 1) I was seeing the most odd result of around 6.5MBPS down and 6.0MBPS up - a long way from being asynchronous!!
Today I am seeing 13.4MBPS down and still 6.0MBPS up
Can I assume that the connection is "settling down"?
Although I am on Fibre38, I was quoted "around 24MBPS downstream". My Vodafone router is reporting a 23.0MBPS connection to the outside world
I'll keep an eye on it and see how quickly it starts to speed up (Oh, and the multistreamed speed test is already showing over 20MBPS)
Thanks Vodafone, this was MUCH less painful than I expected

Hi..
Yes it's settling in.
In the extreme it can take 30 days.

@philguk when I had my Fibre set up (Plusnet not Vodafone but the tech is the same) it was 55Mbps as quoted within about 10 mins of the engineer leaving.
My speed was quite badly affected by a telephone extension within the property, if you've got one of these it may be worth getting it removed.

I made the mistake of looking on Wikipedia about how ADSL actually works - and I understand how it manages noise on the line
As a result I've switched my "splitter to router" cable to a twisted-pair cable
And as I've gone from a poor 4MBPS to "24MBPS" I expected it would take time to decide how to avoid any noise
Oh, and there is only ONE phone on this line, but the cable into the house goes almost all the way around (instead of through the loft) so I have no idea what noise it may be picking up
