Vodafone will not give me written confirmation that my account is cleared, extremely annoyed

Had a contract with them for around a year, they didn't take any more for the first 4 months, every time I rang them and said "I'm not paying for my bill" they kept saying don't worry there is nothing to pay! So i kept trying, telling them every time that the bills are not leaving my bank to still be told "You have nothing to pay" Surprise supirse a few months ago i received a letter saying i owe £175 for missed bills. I paid it, then had another letter saying my account has been cancelled and i have 14 days to pay £476 which is the early termination cost. After hours on the phone and days of frustration then said the line has been reconnected and that i have nothing to worry about. I called them again today to make sure and the outstanding balance for the early termination fee was still there, even though my line was fully working. Not only that but it had been passed to an external debt collection agency and a default had been registered, despite vodafone still telling me I have no outstanding balance.Customer service agents lie to you and don't do what they say. I've had to keep ringing and ringing to get my problems sorted and they never were so now my credit may be ruined. Every time i ask, "has the account defaulted?" they don't know what i default is. How can you send a letter to someone saying if you don't pay within 14 days then the account will be defaulted, yet the staff don't know what a default is? The customer agents tell me different things every time i call so i have no idea where i stand, 3 different agents refused to pass me to a manager saying "they will tell you the same thing" even though that "same thing" was different every time I spoke to some one. So annoyed!

Ive also raised complaints with the ombudsman and with webgate but maybe some one on here can guide me differently to get a quicker response?

Hi,

I appreciate and understand how damaging a default and or marker can be ,and the difficulty in having one removed from a Credit File.

It's important to speak with Customer service first to clear up why this has happened before the Credit File Support Team can help.

Below in Bold is a help guide I have written which explains which department to ask your case to be referred to - i.e 'Vodafone Credit File Support Team' - and how to add a 'Notice of Correction' via Experian. It is Free to add the Notice of Correction. This gives you the tools to add your own notes up to 200 words on your Credit File to explain why the Default is showing.

It would only be worth adding this if you think the default is wrong and shouldn't have been applied. Please take into consideration that a Default will only be removed if it was reported on your Credit File incorrectly.

To Add if a person has spoken to a member of the Credit File Support Team and they have agreed to remove the default then this is usually actioned straightaway. The file will update when the database that Vodafone share with the credit file agencies update.

This normally takes up to 30 working days but can happen quicker.

Unfortunately there is no way to hasten the process up as Vodafone do not have control over the database that is accessed by the credit file agencies. To add this Community Forum is monitored by Vodafone Teams who will engage with you if they can also help.

The Vodafone Community forum is monitored by Vodafone U.K. There are members of the Vodafone Tech Team who are available to respond and Help where they can. They have the Vodafone logo next to their name so a person knows they are officially Vodafone.

All posts are read by them.

Hang in there and I'm sure they'll be in touch.

You could speak with Customer service on 191 or let the Vodafone Team here catch up with your thread and engage with you.

Totally appreciate the frustration and it sounds like you certainly deserve to have a "rant"
