Spilt Port from Vodafone to Talkmobile

Hi

I hope someone can help.

I was a Vodafone customer for 2 years, but my contract expired in November 2016. I decided to move over to Talkmobile. On 15th November I requested a PAC code. I gave this to Talkmobile on 5th December, and although they said the port didn't go through successfully initially, they have confirmed it was ported on 7th December.

I thought everything was good. Talkmobile started billing me and my old contract from Vodafone had been paid up until 15th December (line rental), so I thought all was good.

On 14th January I received a message from Vodafone stating they would be restricting my service because of an unpaid bill. That same day I lost the ability to call, text and use data, but I could still receive calls and texts.

I contacted Talkmbile initially, who have said they would pass it on to their tech team. I have now spoken to them at least 10 times, each time they say their tech team has resolved the issue. I have tried to make it clear to them that it must have something to do with the Vodafone restriction message, but they discount that and say their tech team can fix it. Talkmobile have sent me a new sim and that still didn't change anything.

I have also contacted Vodafone and received a number of contradictory responses. They have told me the line is still active with them, and it hasn't been disconnected. I had to insist they disconnected it (which they did on 15th January), but they has messed up at their end, and now put me on a new 2 year contract! How they can put me on a new contract without my authorisation, I'm not sure. I'd also like to know how they will take payment when they haven't got any banking details!

Anyway, one Vodafone colleague confirmed to me they have restricted the line as I haven't paid the bill. If I pay the bill, the restriction will be lifted.

Another Vodafone representative confirmed it was a split port, and the porting team contacted an outside company who monitor all PAC code usage. They have got back to Vodafone and told them the PAC was never used!

I am so confused. Vodafone say I never used the PAC code, Talkmoblie are billing me me some services. Looking at the bills, the data was transferred successfully to Talkmobile, but the calls and texts strayed with Vodafone. But from January 4th, everything went to Talkmoblie.

My current situation is that I now have calls and data back, but i still cannot text.

I believe both Talkmobile and Vodafone want money off me.

Who do I get a PAC code from if I want to move away from Vodafone and Talkmobile?

Please help. Thanks

Hi

When talk mobile used the Pac Code they take responsibility of your number and this then automatically cancels the Vodafone contract.

When someone rings you it should now go through to your talk mobile sim card. Or is talk mobile still using a temporary number they may have supplied at the time.

Vodafone would send a final bill by post and a Sorry Your Leaving Letter and £0 bill once the final bill is paid. This is how a person could know the Vodafone account is closed.

It's talk mobile who needs to sort this.

I'd suggest to check your Credit File via Experian just to check nothing is showing.

To move to another mobile it would be talk mobile who would issue a Pac Code I would think.
