Store has no courtesy phones! My options?

So my contracts up on Friday and my phone has an issue and needs sending for repair. I'm insured with Vodafone and warranty but they have no courtesy phones and I have no spare. Apparently all the courtesy phones haven't been returned on time from other borrowers.
This ain't my fault, I'm insured and warranty. Should I demand them getting me phone as my insurance covers this.

Thanks.

My thoughts on this one are: if the store has no loan phones then there's not much you can do.

BUT... it's the insurance company you're paying. It's them who say they'll provide a loan phone whilst yours is being fixed so I'd contact them. It's up to them to provide, so if they can't get one from your local Vodafone store then that's not your worry. They'd better go and get you one from elsewhere.

That's what you pay them for!

Good luck!

My insurance is with Vodafone. Ive been paying I think £5 a month on top of my phone package for last 2 years for 'Vodafone covered' for times like this when my phone needs repair and I'm without an android phone.

Guy in shop asking me if I got an old phone I could use ##~##.

Hi @gazmix

I appreciate your frustrated but unfortunately with courtesy phones it's always been a situation where they can supply one if a unit is available at that store at that time.

Appreciate you haven't a spare.

How about family, friends or work colleagues?

I had to have the screen replaced recently on my s7 edge and realised I didn't have a Back up phone. I purchased a relatively cheap smartphone for around  £30 from a well known Supermarket. There are cheaoer one's available too.

I did this then also knowing i had a Back up phone for future use just in case the need arises again.

Thanks band of brothers
That's a good idea.
I've asked around but alas no.

Because I've left it late and my insurance ends on Friday I've only a few days to play with and I need a phone while it's being repaired and so if they can't provide a courtesy phone (the reason I got insurance) I'm going to have to get it done somewhere else.
What can't a basic £30 smartphone do what a z3 compact can do?
Thanks

Also because I'm going sim only and my phone is 2 years old does this mean it's hard to get insurance? Any recommended places?

Hi @gazmix

Thanks for getting in touch.

Unfortunately if the store don't have an available loan phone, we don't have another way of supplying one.

It may be worth popping to another Vodafone store, to see if they have any available.

Also, in reference to moving to a SIM only package, we're only able to provide insurance on a phone that's been supplied by us I'm afraid.

However, if you plan on using the same phone we'll be able to keep your insurance running.

Your cover won't automatically cancel at the end of the commitment. It will continue as normal each month with your package, until you request any changes.

If you need anything else, just let us know. :Smiling:

Thanks,
