On 19th. Dec. I had to shut-down my b/band system and S.Sigv3 as well in order to re-locate al the kit and cabling in the same room but in a neat and tidy way. This took about one-and-a-half hours. At about 13.30hr. I powered it all up again. B/band worked perfectly immediately, and still does. The S.Sigv3 still will not connect more than 27 hours later and after many 'presses' of the re-set button.
If this rerquires a 're-sync' please do it.
I ran through the routine of 'tracert' and speed check and see no difference, exceeding 5% of indicated value, from that which I recorded and sent to you on 20th October.
The suggestion that a connection will take 10 mins to one hour, as given in the 'Quick Set Up Guide' 65-020-032302B, supplied with the device, seems a little hollow.

Hi dmlox,
Your speed test, traceroute and ping test are fine.
Your IP address is on our whitelist, so no problems there either.
To make sure your Sure Signal is as up to date as possible, I’ve just resynced it for you.
So that the resync completes, can you do a factory reset for me:-
Let me know how you go on.
Thanks,
Andrew

Hello Andrew,
Did the re-set on the 20th. at about 8.00pm.
It is now 21st at 10.16am. and S.Sigv3 is still trying (very) to connect.
This after three re-sets
After time it falls into a fault mode:-
Power -- flashing
I'net -- steady orange
Service -- OFF
Users -- steady orange
10.21am
I have just seen it fall into another fault state
Power -- flashing
I'net -- OFF
Service -- steady orange
Users -- steady orange
This lasted a few seconds then reverted to 'trying to connect' -- very strange
I also notice that the 'name' used by V'fone for my S.Sigv3 is pwvss2012 but I have it as pwvss1013
this might be a good reason for the confusion in trying to connect?
All the best
DLox

Good Morning Simon,
Thanks for helping to sort out a "######-up-on-the-administrative-front" (on a bit of paper)
pwvss1013 is a genuine number for use by my router = 'tick'
However despite a severe warning to the S.Sigv3 of experiencing its bowels being reconfigured by a foresters felling axe it still, Monday 23 Dec refuses, to connect.
HEELLLLLLP!!!!
Having read of the potential of r.f.i. in other posts I am now going to relocate my router further away from the S.Sigv3
Regards
DLox.

Hi dmlox,
It's strange. The Sure Signal did connect last night at around midnight.
I've had another look at the traceroute and step 14 does concern me a little. The Sure Signal can time out if steps take longer than 200ms. That one is quite high and dipping over the maximum occasionally.
Can you run another traceroute for me so we can see if it was just a temporary thing?
Also, I'd take a look at the ports and IPs to check for anything not set up automatically.
Ports to be opened for forwarding on the router
IP ranges to be allowed on the router & firewall

Looks like '5' '8' and '12' are screwing up the Vodafone system?
During the previous 10 mins other addresses exceeded 200msec
I'll struggle with the ports and IP addresses
But the S.Sigv3 has worked perfectly well since it first registered.

Hi dmlox,
Have you noticed your speeds for your internet connection being a little slower since you reset everything on 19 December? I only ask as for Sure Signal 3 you'll need a minimum of 4.13Mbps down and 0.37 up.
Reading through your results here I'm not sure if they've been posted the right way round as typically the download speed should be faster than your upload speed. When running a speedtest if you don't meet the minimum requirements, the only ones who can look at your speed options would be your ISP.
Let me know if it was just a typo.
Cheers, Ben
