Solution

Sure Signal v1 Problem

Hi

My Sure Signal v1 suddenly stopped working last weekend.

I've performed as much troubleshooting as I can without success. These are the steps I've performed

  • Full factory reset ie reset switch in for 30 secs, power off, holding down reset switch
  • Rebooted BT Home Hub and reset Sure Signal
  • Checked the Sure Signal is connected to Home Hub and has IP address (it does)

Not sure what else I can do - I just get a single LED lit for the power. Nothing I do connects to the network.

The ethernet link lights on the back of the device are illuminated and flash as if there is network traffic. uPnP is also enabled on the Home Hub.

Any ideas?

Serial Number is 21224330635

Thanks

John

Hi everyone,

@TerryGK,

To resolve the issue, try a new Ethernet cable.

If this doesn't work, please send use the following details:

Your speed test results from here.

Your ping test results from here.

Your external IP address from here.

The results of a traceroute.

VSS Traceroute command

On a PC:

Type CMD into the Run box and press enter/click ok

A black box will appear.

In this box type tracert 212.183.133.177 press Enter

Paste the output of this command into your reply.

This will help us get the quickest possible resolution for you.

@beegee - As there is no power, there is a definite fault with your Sure Signal. If it is within 24 months old you'll be able to arrange a repair

Thanks,

Rodney

Is it usual for someone's thread to be hijacked by other people when asking for help? I find it irritating when my original request for help has now been taken over by two other people. Surely a new thread should have created for each issue?

Bad manners in my book

Sorry Fat Manc thought this was a dialogue re Sure Signal 1 not an online help, happy to drop from this if Voda will communicate in some other way

Hi Rodney

Don't really think the connection should have become a problem, Sure Signal worked well for a couple of years until Vodafone deregistered it last week. Interesting as I own it and it was being used daily, Seems more like it needs a reset but I've followed the online instructions 6 times with no effect

Results anyway

I need this to get any Voda coverage and we're on a housing estate in a major conurbation, do I need to change provider as well ?
