Hi anthp,

Your speed test, ping test and traceroute are fine.

Your IP address is on our whitelist, so no problems there either.

As you’ve changed your router, can you check that the following ports are open/forwarded:

Port Number

8          TCP      UDP

50         TCP      UDP

53         TCP      UDP

67                     UDP

68                     UDP

123                   UDP

500                   UDP

1723     TCP      UDP

4500                 UDP

33434 - 33445    UDP

If they are, do a factory reset of the Sure Signal:

  • Hold down the reset button until all the lights show/flash (about 30 seconds)
  • Keeping the reset button held down, remove both the Ethernet cable and power lead
  • Re-insert the power lead
  • Once all the lights display, release the reset button
  • Re-insert the Ethernet cable.
  • The Sure Signal will come online in around one hour

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks,

Andy

Yes its definatley the router i have substituted an old netgear virgin cable router. sure signal lights started flashing in a sequence un noticed before then about 2 hours all working

As on the hh4 I am forwarding the rquired ports to the ip address of the sure signal (192.168.1.92 in my setup) how do i check the ports are actualy open

Hi anthp,

If you follow the instructions here, you'll be able to check you've opened the ports correctly and then test them at the bottom of the page.

Thanks,

Matt B
