Sure signal v3 + AirPort Extreme + virgin superhub = no signal

Hi everyone. Have just taken delivery of a new sure signal. It is plugged into my AirPort Extreme which is serving my wifi via the Virgin Media Super Hub which is in Modem mode. The Suresignal has the red light on and a constantly flashing connecting icon. I have reset it several times but it will not connect.

I'm guessing it is something to do with the AirPort Extreme settings. Can anyone tell me what the Internet/IP settings should be on the Extreme to get this working? Thanks

Hi benbasten,

Can you take a look at our Sure Signal Troubleshooting thread, and then post back your results if you’re not directed to an existing thread?

It has lots of port forwarding and IP details for you as well as instructions on what we need should we need to push anything this end. :Smiling:

Cheers, Ben

I know the superhub when in router mode has some firewall settings that need changing.

To check that the suresignal actually is doing what it should be, are you able to take the AirPort out of the network, put the superhub back to router mode, enter the advanced settings -> Firewall -> tick the IPSec VPN Passthrough box.

You never know, (although it shouldn't make a difference), that may need enabling while it is in modem mode too?

Are there any vpn passthrough settings on the AirPort?
