Suresignal affecting Wifi internet connection

Hi - I hope someone can help, a couple of weeks my suresignal stopped working, just had a flashing power light, vodafone couldnt find a problem and said I should check my internet connections etc, I am with Sky, I sent sky a message but havent had a reply but two nights ago my suresignal started working again, the only issue now is that when the sure signal is plugged in it knocks off the wifi on my laptap, it does it on two different laptops, I have no idea how to rectify this, I had the suresignal working for two months no problem and now its really playing up!

Thanks

Hi NeilWBelfast,

Hmmm....the cable that's supplied is that length for a reason.

Is it possible for you to try a longer cable?

Cheers,

LeeH

Silly question I know but how can you story a different cable length when it is a cable provided by Vodafone?....

Is it a standard cable from any hardware store?

Hi NeilWBelfast,

The Sure Signal connects to your router by via a standard Ethernet cable. These are available in most good electrical retailers.

Thanks

Hi there, got a bit lost reading all the stuff above. I very recently set up my new sure signal plug in for the the first time. Until then I had a decent wireless connection speed for most additional gadgets and smart tv. Since the SS box has started up the wireless is very erratic and drops out constantly, cant watch TV anymore via iPlayer etc. The Home Hub 3 I have from BT sits on top of my tower unit which is on a desk directly above the socket in which the SS is plugged into. Any basic ideas for me as to how to fix this other than removing the SS box completely?

Hi davieo,

That's a strange one but to narrow down the cause of the issue could you try moving the location of the Sure Signal please so that it's away from your router?  This will help us to see if it's interference being caused by the box for you.

Thanks,

Phil

Thank you Jenny. With switching the SS box off & on. Moving it to the length of its length away from the Bt Wireless Router. the netbook is now working fine. Picking up the Internet signal. There was no need to register the Netbook as it only wireless enabled & no SIM card.
