Texting

Does anyone else have a problem with texting on a Vodafone Smart 4. Recently when sending texts to friends they have been received multiple times. In one case 57 time and another 63. Some go 9 times some 4 times.Te only way to stop it is by shutting the phone down. It is exasperating for recipients.

May I Welcome you to the eForum. 

I've heard this happening on various phones. 

Try ejecting the SIM card and wipe it , reinsert and turn back on. 

Can you try your Sim Card in another phone as a process of elimination to rule out the phone or sim card that may be at fault. 

Usually what can resolve this is a Sim Swap which any Vodafone Highstreet store can do.

I would be inclined to do a hard reset on your phone and see if that sorts the problem out. You can find how to do a hard reset by Googling the information. Its more than likely the message centre is not responding correctly and keeps sending the same message.

If the messages are being sent to an alternative network, it may be worth asking the recipients to query the problem with the other network.  

If you still have the problem, this is something Live Chat will be able to investigate.

I did this a few days ago and am using a new SIM now. I thought it had done the job till yesterday when the same thing happened. Gets a bit annoying after a while.

Have you been able to try another phone as a process of elimination?

I tried that and they appeared not to be able to give me any clues whatsoever.

Cannot try it in another phone as it is a micro sim and I don't have a phone that takes them. However I did try it in 2 old phones
