Unable to register, add or remove users

We’ve created this thread to help with online problems that may occur when registering, or managing your Sure Signal.

 

You need an online account so you can register and manage your Sure Signal.

 

You’ll receive a text as part of the registration process, which contains a security code. This code is only valid for 20 minutes.

 

We understand that if you own a Sure Signal, you’ll most likely have little or no coverage, so we recommend you register online when you know you’ll be able to receive the text.


Business customers:

If you’re a business customer you can’t register this via My Account and you need to visit Sure Signal for business. Just click ‘Register a Sure Signal’ and enter your company name as the owner and your mobile number as the administrator - this way you can still make any changes needed.


Consumer customers:

You’ll receive a text or email to confirm that the Sure Signal is fully registered.


Please note that problems can occur, if the number that’s registered as the Owner of the Sure Signal, is different than the main number registered for online billing.


Check for planned maintenance:

Check the forum for any planned maintenance. If there is, this will be announced at the top of the Sure Signal forum.

 

Planned maintenance can involve changes to the registration system, so wait for this to complete and then retry.


Pending active:

If your online account shows the Sure Signal as ‘Pending Active’, then post in this thread and we’ll look into it further.


All other issues:

If you have any other problems with your Sure Signal registration or management, just post the details below. We’ll need the following:

 

  • Exact error message
  • Step by step instructions for how to recreate the issue
  • Operating system
  • Browser and browser version

I have the same problem lots of customers report- when I try to add my new iPad number to our business suresignal listing I get the Error invoking portlet "VAPGatewayController" message. We have 2 boxes in different locations and it won't work for either. Yes it is a Vodafone iPad and sim supplied directly from Vodafone.

Why don't Vodafone give customers the option to have their device "open" i.e. not need numbers registered.

 

I have no concerns about my BB being used and it would be helpful to others passing by as there is no reliable mobile signal within a couple of miles.

 

Also, would like the option not to have the plug device, but a box that can be placed more suitably to get some localised outdoor coverage.

I just bought one today regstiered it and plugged it in and it seems to be struggling to connect, internet light flashing, power light constant.

 

 

is there something going on that would stop this working as i cant get onto the sure signal part of "my vodafone" now either??

tbeith - Is this fixed now? If not, please click here and we'll take a look into it.

 

leighallen - There's no stock left of the earlier versions so I'm afraid it won't be possible.

 

In terms of us making the VSS an open network, this isn't something we're going to be able to do for you.

 

iany - Which version of the Sure Signal did you get, was it from us and can I take the serial number from you?

Yep from Vodafone store. Its ok now it appeared to sort itslef overnight personal phone is fine however my work blackberry doesnt connect, any known issues with bberry and VSS boxes?

What model is your BlackBerry? 

Is 3G enabled on it?

 

There are no known issues with compatibility unless the phone doesn't have 3G :Winking_smiley:

So....

After checking the model its old 8250 and has no 3g lol

Ordered an upgrade so should be ok once that arrives.

Thanks for reminding me of that possibility, go so used to everything having 3g these days!

Hi

 

I joined Vodafone last week and my number was ported over yesterday.  This all went fine and I can make/receive calls/texts now.  As yet though I am not able to add my number to the Suresignal box we have at home (my wife is also on Voda and we get awful signal at home).  When I try to add it comes up with a 'technical problem'.

 

Is this something to do with the porting?
