Unlocking an iPhone 5

Hi,
Just a quick question. I've just upgraded to an iPhone 6 from an iPhone 5 and looking to sell it to a friend. How do I go about unlocking it and will I be charged? I can only find the bit where it says you'll be charged £20 if you've been a customer less than a year but I haven't.
