Hi, I've just been trying to set up my Vodafone My-Fi router, I've input the password after doing everything the leaflet suggests (insert SIM and battery etc) and when I browse the Internet it diverts me to a launch page and tells me that I have:

"Limited Service
Your Mobile Wi-Fi device currently has limited service as your vodafone UK SIM has not been able to register on the currently selected network.

To register on a network your SIM card has to be provisioned for data and you have to be in a location where a data network is available."

I phoned customer service on 191 in case I had to register the new SIM, gave them the SIM number and they said the problem should resolve within 24 hours. Has this been anyone else's experience, as it's been over 24 hours now and I'm still getting the same message when trying to use the web.

Yes I've done all that thanks, it's still giving me the limited service message.

Hi @belb

If rebooting the device does not resolve this then if this was my situation I'd re contact customer service and advise the timeframe has passed, and the issue still the same.

Sometimes a sim swap can help which any Vodafone Shop can do to replace the sim.

Also a person has 30 days Calling off period from buying the device to have a refund or the unit replaced. Unfortunately top ups or unused allowances cannot be refunded

Hi @belb

If you have followed the set up procedure, you need to use the normal Wi-Fi application on your PC and select the mobile Wi-Fi network from the list of available Wi-Fi networks.  You will then be able to click to connect the device.

If the limited service issue persists, it might be worth checking the website network Coverage checker on the link below.
