Vodafone 3G Dongle K4505 Windows 7 compatable?

Usb dongle fails to load "Vodafone mobile broadband modem" , only on my new Windows7 machine , it seems to be ok on Vista tower . How can I get it to accept this device driver , any ideas where to get the specific file i need,I presumed the drivers were all kernelled in the device?

Hi esxman, welcome to the eForum!

It may be, from the sound of the issue, that you don't have the latesrt version of VMC on the dongle, meaniung you have one which is fine with Vista but not with the more recent OS.

Not to worry - can you follow this link to download the latest Vodafone Mobile Broadband software for me and give that a go? We cannot guarantee that every dongle has the latest software when purchased, but we'll always link you to the latest versions as and when they come out!

If that doesn't resolve the issue, can you start by confirming the specific model ofdongle that you're using and what exactly happens when you plug it into the USB port - do you get an error message (if so, what one?) or does nothing happen?

Also, can you confirm if you've tried different USB ports in case the issue is linked to one specific port?

The link should sort this, but if not, with a little more information we'll be able to get to the bottom of this.

Thank you David . after I read the other posts , I realise I should have said I'm an ex-pat living in Greece on the island of Crete ,( but because my greek is not too good , I cannot explain my problem on the Greek forum ). I will try the download link and the other ports on the laptop . Also interesting point the first dongle they gave me worked on XP Vista and Win 7 it was an E272 , but after two years it cooked , and they replaced it with the K4505 , other people here have got the 3715 model. Great , the update fixed the problem with the K4505 dongle , so now it works with WIN7, altho' it does not say it on the box ... many thanks Vodafone
