Vodafone Broadband Router - WiFi devices cannot access wired devices

diamondgeezer
4: Newbie

Joined Vodafone Broadband a couple of onths ago, been driving me nuts that none of my Wifi devices can connect to any wired devices, never had any issues like this before with any other router so I gave up and had an online chat with Customer Support and heres the reply

Thomas: Unfortunately this is not something our routers currently support. I think it is something we are looking into but as far as I am aware it is not possible at the moment

tony: any idea when this will be fixed

Thomas: I have no exact time scale on this but I can see a lot of customers are wanting to do this so I can't imagine it will that long. I am sorry that is rather vague
tony: Wanting to do this.......this is a basic feature - any work around like can I use another router
Thomas:

I agree but we do not support third party routers. I can not give the details out for this. The best solution would be that complaints procedure and see if they can authorize giving you the PPOE details

Come on Vodafone sort it out, this is a basic requirment of any home router.

Hi @robinfox

We'd love to help.

Please come and speak to the Broadband team on Live Chat, so we can talk about it further.

Thanks,

from the live chat people i have spoke to my belief is vodafone doesnt have a well trained tech team for the broadband, when the answers you get are its nothing to do with their router after you have told them you have never had a problem with another isp, or if you dont like it you can always leave as you are within your 30 days its clearly a bug in the firmware and shouldnt be that hard to fix it

If Live Chat hasn't worked for you, you can call our Broadband team on 08080 034 515.

Let us know how you get on.

Online Broadband team couldn't help either, the issue is with the router and 4 months on still not fixed.

For me this got escatled to a guy called Peter Ross and all Peter could offer me was to come out of the contract without any penatiles.

I don't think this will ever been fixed, they have had 18 months of my time. IMHO the only remedy is a third party router which means you need your username and password OR an alternative ISP.
