Vodafone Employee Advantage Scheme

markharrop
4: Newbie

I am thinking of purchasing a sim only through the employee advantage scheme

when i go to buy, the only ones it lets me purchase are up to the £15 i gb data sim, i rang to ask as this surely cannot be the only options till the others come off the offer on the 31st of october ?

any advice on this as a few of us at work were looking at the £20 20gb one

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

well popped into my local vodafone shop and was told " the vea discount can definitely be applied to the red bundle deals that are on offer "

sat down with her and she showed me on screen what can be discounted and the £20 20gb bundled showed a price of £14

so i went ahead and got 2

hope this helps others out who can take advantage of this good deal at the minute

Hi

Appreciate what your saying.

How on earth are you supposed to make an informed decision from fractured advice.

Vodafone own this forum and monitor it. Perhaps hang in there while they catch up and respond.

Hi @markharrop

It might be worth remembering that the discount is offered by your employer and not by Vodafone direct.

I am slightly confused as to what is meant by being unable to use the VA discount for 3 months.  Providing the tariff meets the criteria for the discount and your employer promotes the discount for employees, you can add the discount immediately.

Your problem here is going to be with the tariff being on promotion and not eligible for the discount offered by your employer.

You need to give Vodafone a call and discuss the best options for your SIM only contract or call into a store for personal support, they are there to give the best advise.

You may just save the same or more money taking a promotiional discount as you would having advantage added.

When you contact Vodafone, it might be worth remembering that with the new iphone launch, they are extremely busy with enquiries and you may need to be a wait a little longer than usual.

the discount is only available on the 3 tariffs up to £15 with 1gb of data

anything larger than thats it says discount cannot be applied

the tarifs were £22 and £27 last time i checked (but as they were discounted to that price the vea discount could not be applied then )

what i am saying is surely this cannot constantly be the only sim only option a 1gb sim only plan

Hi @markharrop

You need to look at the link below.  You can add the VA to any non discounted or tariff on promotion.  The non discounted tariffs all eligible for VA are on the link below.

SIM only contracts

You are probably looking at the link below.

SIM only tariffs on promotion

The best option is to give Vodafone a call, they will help.

out of them sim cards , half dont exist anymore and only the 3 as before below 1gb apply the discount

the 20gb for £30 like a few others do not exist when you go to select them

The the three top SIMO Tariffs have been discounted. And the discount is more or same as VEA. So I don't see why bother with VEA considering there is a £10 charge for it.

You are after a discount, whether VEA or Direct, as long you get it, does it really matter which?

Exactly @Getafix

That is the point I was trying to get across.

:smileywink:

the point i was trying to get across was that last week the prices for the top two tariffs were £27 and £22 respectively

they are now £25 and £20

a saving of £2 on each tariff

the vea discount is a 30% obviously a lot more

a £62 saving ( including the £10 membership fee)

as opposed to £14

(also a possibility of quidco currently £70 if ordered directly not over the phone)
