Hi there McKevin, and welcome to the eForum! :P

Sadly your post hasn't given us any real technical information to work with. Can you tell us:

- Does this happen all the time?
- Have you tried the latest Vodafone Mobile Connect?
- What version of Windows 7 are you using?
- Have you tried another USB port?
- Have you tried temporarily disabling any cd burning (drive virtualisation) software?
- What happens when you plug the modem in from booting?

If you can let us know the above, as well as any further details you think may help us draw an accurate picture in our mind about what's going on that would help greatly!

Keep us updated,

Hello Mckevin. Glad its not just me! Got the PAYG dongle 2 weeks ago but couldnt get it to work on windows XP. Tech helpdesk was worse than usless. Bought brand new laptop with windows 7 and when I use the dongle the laptop either freezes immediately, or else shuts down to a black screen and then automatically restarts. Its SO frustrating but luckily I still have this laptop using Orange home broadband which is free with phone contract. If anyone can help Mckevin and me, please do

Hi kart88 and welcome to the eForum

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with this and completely appreciate how frustrating this must be for you.

Can you tell me the exact process of what happens in each instance of the failure. What point does it happen? When the software loads? When the modem is plugged in ? etc

Could you also try the newest version of the Vodafone Mobile Connect software which can be found here - Vodafone Mobile Connect Software
Give this a go and let me know how you get on and we'll be more than happy to help you further

Thanks

Wayne
