Vodafone K3570-z Dongle - It's Not Allowing Network Connection

Hi there,
I have the k3570-z broadband dongle with a toshiba satellite l30 laptop. The laptop came with windows vista installed but due to work i needed windows xp sp3 on it instead. The issue im having is that the vodafone software doesnt pick up the dongle, then when you find it manually on the devices tab it still doesnt allow you to connect to any network, the connect button is still greyed out. Is there any fix downloads for this issue or is it due to the fact my laptop should be running on vista?

Any help would be appreciated as im pulling my hair out.

Cheers

Hello Gaz w and welcome to the eForum

it seems the problem her is that your modem is not assigned to the computer properly, or another 'instance' of the modem is taking priority. Either way i would suggest doing the following as a preliminary step: (unplug modem first and exit VMC fully)

1. Start

2. Control Panel

3. Phone and modems

4. Advanced tab (enter any random numbers if presented with a 'dialling code' screen)

5. Remove anything that says Huwei, or Globetrotter from the modem list

6. Ok

7. (plug in modem) Try to add a modem

8 Reboot device with modem inserted if unable to add.

Please let me know if this makes a difference.

Thanks

Hi donalt2010

Before I can assist you with this, I just have a few questions to ask?B-)

Does your device work with VMC, and are you able to browse the internet?

If yes, what is it you are attempting to do that is causing the issue?

If no, do you get an error message, or error code?

What version of VMC do you have, and which model of modem?

If you can kindly reply to these, I will be able to assist further.
