I have a Samsung S7 Edge and the Vodafone Protect doesnt work, Vodafone said that they were uptdating the App in January 2017, but the app still doesnt work

Hi

 

I personally don't use it as I feel my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge has enough security and back ups for my needs. 

 

However in your situation I would delete the app and go into playstore on a computer and delete the app which would be still showing under your Apps section. 

 

And then try re downloading it.

I haven't seen any for a while (he said, tempting fate), but there have been issues with VP - particularly relating to the PIN if it decides to lock you out.   You may find that some or all of the features you want are available through apps such as Avast or AVG and your Google account.
