I just received my new Smart Platinum 7 yesterday and it has the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. I haven't even got a sim card in it yet and decided to check out how long the battery last. I noticed the first time I left the phone at home without use for several hours and the battery drained very quickly (no new apps what so ever). So I disabled all the google apps which are not used, downloaded greenify and dozed what I could. The only thing I've added was a third party weather app and left the location on but wifi off. At approximately 1 am the phone had 92% and was left unused till arround 10 am. The phone battery was down to 65%. The phone was left unused again till around 4pm. I uninstalled the third party weather app which was quite power intensive and got the sense weather app instead which is less intensive and at 4.30pm it had 52%. The phone was untouched till 10.30pm and it was down to 39%!!. This is very poor when the phone hasn't even been used properly. Comparing it to my current Huawei P9, if it is at 89% at 1 am, when unused, by 10 am, it's still on 89%. That's with the GPS on constantly and without having the Greenify app to hibernate any of my apps which is quite alot as I've had it for over 1 year.
I'm going to test it again tonight with the location switched off and on full charge to see if the battery will last but I'm very skeptical as I've exhausted everything possible to preserve power.
Also, I noticed it only charges up to 99%. Is this normal?
Has anyone else been experiencing the same problem? could it be a software issue or hardware issue?
Cheers

Hi
This is my experience with a new phone and battery consumption.
It has a non -removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery which is a decent sized option.
Please keep in mind you do have a 30 day cooling off period which can be used to take it back and swap out or choose another model.

Some sound advice from Lee there. I'd also recommend looking at the screen brightness setting - it's quite often set quite high and you can turn it down a lot without compromising visibility. You can also go into Settings|Power [or Battery] and see what's using the most. I've recently been setting up a new tablet and, for the first couple of days it was using about 50% in a few hours. The largest user was system idle, in fact. It's settled down now and only used about 15% in the same time yesterday. I don't think that's long enough for the battery to fully condition, but use may have initialised most of the apps.
