Vodafone Services - Connect 9.4.6 when is update expected?

Hi,

1/ Have you any schedule for the next update to current version VF 9.4.6 ?

2/ Also, how might I find out if the next release might include my built in 3G modem ? (Qualcomm Gobi 2000).

I am keen to remain with Vodafone but if support is not coming for my modem then I will need to look elsewhere,

Hi clever_trevor,

As yet, we have yet to receive any correspondence of when the next Mobile Connect update will be released and in regards to whether it will be able to support your built in Qualcomm Gobi modem, we are unable to confirm this until we have the specifications and support documents for the new update.

Please keep an eye on our Latest Vodafone Mobile Broadband Software as this is where the update will appear but I will keep my eyes and ears peeled in regards to whether it will be compatible to your built in modem.

I can appreciate and understand the need for the support on this, but I assure you we will offer as much support as we possibly can.

the Gobi 2000 is supported starting with 9.4.9 which you can obtain on the download page from Vodafone Germany.
The upcoming release 10 also supports the Gobi 2000.

EXCELLANT - This is great news, thank you so much for this news - phew! I nearly moved to Orange (who do support this modem!) 🙂

Anyways, will this German version work on my UK laptop (with language in German) or best to wait for official UK release (as I dont want to install this if it will cause me problems) ?

I took the plunge 🙂

And confirm this works fine - I am now able to connect with my built-in modem.
