QHUSB_BULK appears to be a designation for multiple drives. I assume you're choosing the "browse files" (or similar wording) when you're asked what sort of connection you want to the pc? Can you then see the directory tree on the phone?
It may be that the phone is damaged so that even remote access isn't possible using standard tools. In that case, data recovery is the only option, but it's likely to be expensive.
Whatever storage medium you use (internal memory or an sd card), ALWAYS sync phtos to a cloud service such as Google or Dropbox, and preferably more than one. Storage can and will fail and data that only exists in one place really doesn't exist at all.
